So! I've been wanting to try spray painting furniture for a while now. I like bright bold pieces but actually painting them seemed a bit too time consuming to me. So when my awesome friend Carlyne gave me an old lowboy dresser for the nursery I decided it would be my golden yellow focal point. For three days I strapped on Parker's professional grade painters mask, 4 layers of clothes because the garage is freezing and started spraying. I followed the advice of Brooke from allthingsthrifty.com. Shes got lots of good stuff but anything specifically about spray painting you can find here. This is what my end product ended up looking like:
and I love it! Even with all of its little imperfections. I used Krylon in Bauhaus Gold, ended up being about 5 cans total to cover this 6 ft dresser.
This fabrics on top of the dresser are projects that have yet to be finished! The whale is a soon to be pillow for my new chair along with the lighter solid teal. The patterned lighter teal will be a fabric headboard for the twin bed and the darker teal will be pillows for the bed. Last but not least the brown with tiny polka dots will be curtains. All purchased from Joanns.
To be continued...
